April Insta Life

I've seen lots of people do it. So for April I did a photo a day challenge. I managed to squeeze most days in there. There were a few data I didn't care for the challenge so I skipped it. But here's my photo challenge through pics!!

Teaching Changes a your Heart

I've been teaching for a long time now (10 years to be exact). I've seen lots of different kids from lots of different families. It's very humbling today to see these kids and the kinds of things they deal with on a daily basis - things I didn't even know about at their age. But teaching has also defined who I've become. My life I've dreamed of being a wife and stay-at-home mom. Well my HF had other plans for me. He wanted me to be a teacher. He knew the sweet children would touch my life as much as I touched theirs. I guess if I can't be a mom then being a teacher is definitely a great alternative!!! I absolutely love and adore the children that I teach!! This has been an especially great year with especially great students. One child in particular has really touched my heart. I have seen tremendous change in him and am so lucky to have had him in my class this year! I've learned so much from him, more than he'll ever know! He is such a cute, sweet…

Being Christian

What does it mean to be Christian? Are Mormon Christians different from other Christians?

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In our church we are "called" to help out in various ways. My current calling is teaching the sweet relief society sisters (ages 18 and up) in my particular ward one Sunday a month. I'm pretty sure that I've learned so much more from preparing my lessons than they have from listening to me. Today my lesson was on a talk called "Being a More Christian Christian"  given by Elder Robert D. Hales at the last general conference session. This talk really spoke to me. It really caused me to think about what it really means to be christian. I had several thoughts as I was preparing to teach this lesson. But I also asked some friends and family members what they thought on the matter. I will share with you my thoughts. Here are a few quotes that hit me hard:
The world would change for good if more of us followed the …

Safe Haven

I saw Safe Haven for the second time tonight. The first time I saw it I was so excited because I had just finished reading the book. I loved it and especially loved the Love Story between Katie and Alex!

But this time was different. I bawled through the whole movie. And afterwards I sat and thought about that. Why such a different reaction? And I realized its because of some things that I'm going through in my own life right now. These trials that I'm going through currently have changed my perspective. It's because of that perspective that I saw the movie through different eyes tonight.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. And although I may not like what he puts me through I know he has a purpose for doing it. I'll be honest I'm going through some things right now that scare me to death. And being the extremely patient person that I am (haha) I just want to be done with…

Allergy shots no more 💉

Well for the last 4 1/2 years I've been getting allergy shots. My whole life I've had issues with allergies. I've attempted many fixes. But when I moved to St. George they were significantly worse. So upon seeing the allergist he recommended the allergy shots. I figured I had nothing to lose so I went for it.

Well the first six months were difficult. I started at twice a week for awhile. Then we moved to once a week. Then came once every other week. And then finally once a month...woohoo!!!! That was time for celebration!!! Then I went through once a month shots for the next four years. I was so ready to be done about a year ago lol! But believe it or not yesterday was that day!!! I got my last shot!! It's exciting. But at the same time it feels wierd. I've been going for so long...but if feels good to say that I'm done!!!

Okay so my post title might be slightly deceiving. But it was the best I could come up with. This will probably be a mushy girly post...

So it all started when I came across this book called Second Chance that I fell in love with. When I was done with that book in about a week I figured I needed more by that author. So I started reading Twitterpated and loved it even more!!!

But I also felt like this book was in a way about me. Unfortunately I identified a lot with the main character. Reading about her and connecting with her taught me a lot about myself.

But mostly this book just made me feel TWITTERPATED!!! Honestly the relationship between the main character and the boy made me feel those butterflies of a fresh relationship. And you know I keep myself really busy for a reason!! If I keep busy I won't remember that I'm single and lonely. I won't have tone to think about it. But this book left me wanting to be in love so bad, longing for a relationship, wanting to find …

My Life...a whole lot of crazy!

Okay I have totally neglected the blog lately. It's been about a month since I last posted! That is huge for me. In the past there've been months where I posted daily. So here is a little RANDOM UPDATE of the last few months of my life. In no particular order or importance. And if this is too sporatic to keep up with, I won't be offended if you stop reading. I'll try to be more consistent. But there are no guarantees until AFTER MAY 23! (the last day of school)
MY LIFE (in the last few months):

I received lots of notes from sweet students. Here are a few samples of some of their sweet notes as well as some of their "persuasive letters" they wrote to their parents.

This was written just after reading "Frindle" to my class. I was told it needed to hang outside the classroom door.

They have become sneaky lately: placing notes on my chair, signing "your secret admirer", putting sticky notes on my pen holder...

"Life Changer" Love it!
