More Colorado...

Image
I've now been in Colorado for over a week. And I've realized that I take too many pics. Most of them are of Cole...only because Maliya doesn't look at me long enough for a picture. She smiles and says cheese, and then she walks away. So I have a few of her, but not too many.

There are TONS of mosquitoes in Colorado! On a daily basis, they eat me alive. This swollen foot is the result of mosquitoes working their magic. This foot is just one example of how much the mosquitoes love me. I better figure this out soon!! Craft time...this pic might be on my previous post??
More crafts...see a previous post for the whole explanation of how I did this project...
We've had fun playing rubber bands!
He's making a sand angel. He looks like he relaxing in the sand, but he is actually making his sand angel.
One day after lunch. When he finished eating, he plopped down on the floor with a good book and starting reading. So cute! He was very into his book.

Craft Time!!

My sister Lynnie found this super cute craft on Pinterest. I fell in love when she showed it to me! It looked simple enough so I decided to give it a try. So I went out and bought the three things that I would need: canvases, spray paint, and doilies. And in case you're wondering, doilies aren't the easiest to find. I was hoping for cloth doilies, thinking that they would be sturdier and make it a little easier to do the project. I had to settle for paper doilies. But it still worked out. We experimented on newspaper beforehand and discovered that the doilies were really thin and would move. So when doing the actual project, I taped the doilies down to the canvas. Then I sprayed the canvas. (This was my nephew Cole's favorite part) After letting them dry for awhile, I went and checked on them. I let them dry a little too long though. Some pieces of the doilies were completely stuck to the canvas. It took great effort to get some of the pieces off of the canvas. So I think…

Missionary Mail!!

Image
Awhile back, I found a pin on pinterest about different odd-shaped items that could be sent through the mail, as long as they were under a certain weight limit. The other day I was at the dollar store with my sister. We found some flip flops, which were an item on the list. So we decided to buy some plain, black flip flops and send our cute missionary sister some fun mail. When we got home, my sis pulled out all of her fabric scraps. We chose some cute coordinating scraps and tore them into strips. We then tied the strips along the strap of the flip flops. I think that they turned out pretty darn cute. Once that was finished, we got some shimmery sharpie markers (we used the off-brand) to complete our project. On mine I chose to write missionary inspired words all over the shoes. I chose words that reminded me of my sister as a missionary, gospel centered words, and things pertaining particularly to missionaries. I had the help of a very cute four-year-old thinking up the best words h…

Time in Colorado...

I am spending some time in Colorado. My sis will be having a baby soon so I'm here to help her out. I also just sold my house. So my sis and her hubby are nice enough to let me stay with here for awhile (while I'm homeless haha). Upon arrival, my nephew had just been put in bed. So my sis took me up to say hi to him. He was so surprised to see me since he didn't expect to see me until the next day. But then he wanted to show me what he had in my room for me. A beautiful picture that he'd made for me as well as a few candies that he had put out for me. And he told me all about the picture how it is a beautiful rainbow and it has my name in it, but he didn't color the letters of my name so I could read it better. He's a cutie. Below are a few pictures I've taken on my phone while I've been here in Colorado. By the way, I've been here since Friday, June 6th.
