{Trials}

Image
Hi friends. I've been thinking a lot lately about my own personal trials. I've had many ups and downs throughout my life. But there is one trial that I've been working through for many, many years. At times it seems unbearable. At other times I find ways to occupy myself and not think about it as often. Although the intensity is different at different times in my life, this trial is something that I think about daily. On some days it may be a brief thought when I am alone with my thoughts. On other days it may completely consume me. Although I am so ready to be done with this trial, the Lord is not ready for me to be done with this trial. I wish I could say that this trial had taught me more than it has. But I think the biggest thing I have learned from this trial is that life is hard and that you never know what battles those around you are fighting.
My battle is one of loneliness. I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a church that is centered ar…

Life is hard sometimes...

Image
Life has been so hard this year. It has seriously been one of the hardest years of my life. Last spring I quit my job, sold my house, and accepted a job four hours away. It was one of the scariest times in my life. Letting go of my home of five years was soooo hard! I miss my house on a daily basis! I am now living in Provo, UT...a place I didn't plan to end up. I am renting a tiny basement for the same price that I paid for my mortgage on my cute townhouse in St. George. I absolutely love my job, which is a big part of why I needed to move here. My job has been a huge blessing to me this year. I love where I work. I love the people I work with. I love the happy, friendly environment at the school that I work at. I work for the most amazing principal on the planet! I am so blessed to work at Freedom Prep!! But I miss my friends in St. George so much that it hurts! I've met some wonderful people here and for that I am grateful. But it just takes time and I am not patient. I st…

{Cafe Rio}

Image
Yes...that looks disgusting!
I am very disappointed in Cafe Rio right now. When I order a burrito, they ALWAYS mess it up. I didn't say sometimes; it is ALWAYS. For that reason I usually order the tostada. But sometimes I want leftovers for the next day, so I order a burrito. Last night I was feeling exhausted from all of my cleaning, organizing, doing laundry, grocery shopping, etc. I decided to treat myself to Cafe Rio. I was in Springville running an errand so I decided to go to the Spanish Fork Cafe Rio. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. First of all, that is the SLOWEST Cafe Rio I have ever been to. Second of all, not only  did they mess up my order, but they refused to make me a new burrito.
They made my burrito "enchilada style". I'm sorry to all of those who like your burrito that way, but I simply do not. I asked them to make me a new burrito since they had made it wrong. The girl acted totally bugged, but made the new burrito anyway. She threw the burrito together …

Thinking about the past...

Brings back old emotions...

One day last week I was shopping at Home Depot (a store that I try to avoid). After I found my items I was heading to the register to check out. I heard a familiar voice and I couldn't figure out who it was. As I looked up, I instantly knew who that voice was coming from. It was coming from the principal that didn't hire me last year. I had interviewed with him on three separate occasions and had been lead to believe that I was going to be hired at that school. When I didn't receive the job I was totally crushed. My heart was completely broken. I had really wanted that job. I was super excited about that job! I loved the school, loved the principal, and it felt right. I felt very strongly that I was going to be working there. So when I found out that someone else was hired instead of me I was completed crushed.
That was a year ago. I've since moved on and discovered that life is wonderful at the school that did choose to hire me. I know wi…

{The Longest Ride}

Image
Oh how I love this book! A few years ago when it came out a friend leant me her book so that I could read it. I loved every minute of it! I think it might be my favorite Nicholas Sparks book. In my opinion, it is seriously that good! So when I heard that they had made it into a movie, I was beyond excited!! I knew I had to find the time to read it again. But when is what I thought to myself? Then I realized that Spring Break was coming up. So when Spring Break hit, I paid the few dollars to download the book on my kindle. I spent lots of time enjoying my fabulous book during the break. I loved it just as much the second time! And if you know me, you know that I'm not a book repeater. Once is usually good for me. If I read a book twice, you know that I really like that book!
I worked it out to see the movie on the day that it came out. That wasn't easy. My mom was coming into town for my sister's bridals. My sister wanted to get ready for her bridals at my house. And I ha…

{Home Improvement}

If you know me, you know that I am not handy around the house. But this little basement that I'm living in has all sorts of issues that I'm forced to figure out. And I swear these light bulbs are going to be the death of me. Every time a light bulb goes out I discover that it's oddly shaped and costs lots of money. Prior to living here, I was used to buying the light bulb four pack from Walmart that costs 88 cents. The cheapest of the light bulbs I've replaced in this place has been $10. That is a LOT of money for a stinking light bulb! So when my most current light bulb went out, I was not excited for what I was going to find. And guess what? Although it's not as oddly shaped as the others, it's just as expensive as the others. Ugh!!
So I made the trek once again to Home Depot and bought me some expensive light bulbs. The best part was that the packaging was label a little different than what my light bulb said on it. I decided to ask someone so I wouldn'…

{Easter Time!}

Image
I got to celebrate Easter with these cute kids! All nine of them! It was so fun watching their excitement as they found eggs, baskets, and everything inside of those baskets. Easter isn't a huge deal around my house since I don't have a spouse or children. So it was fun spending it with my nieces and nephews this year. I absolutely adore each one of them and I'm so grateful to have celebrated with them!!
Happy Easter my friends!

Spring Break...

Image
Well...Spring Break is coming to an end. Although I didn't go anywhere this year, I did have a wonderful break. Sleeping in, reading my book, and catching up on life has been wonderful! This picture below is what I looked like on Friday afternoon when school let out. I was out like trout! I love my job but I really, really needed the break.
I started my break by heading to Idaho. My nephew Kody was getting baptized on Saturday so the whole family spent some time in Idaho celebrating Kody's special day. It was so fun being with my family! It happened to also be Easter weekend, so that was fun to spend Easter with all those cute little kids. It was also Kayla's birthday so we had fun celebrating her. :) We also got to go see the temple that's being built while we were there. That was great!! We all headed home at different times. Since I was traveling with my parents, we decided to head home on Monday afternoon. We stopped in to see grandpa on our way back. It worked ou…
